The Number one Common Mistake Wrestling Promoters make on a Match Card

Hey Ryan Melrose former Australian Pro Wrestler as you guys know I love sharing about my life as a pro wrestler I have so much knowledge in my head I have to get out here so here goes.

Now one of the most important things I want to talk about is the number one mistake every show promoter I see tends to make when filling up there card.

And this mistake may not seem that big of a deal, it actually is and can actually prevent your show from growing bigger and attracting a new audience.

You maybe guessing what it is I’m talking about. I am talking about where you schedule new wrestler debuting on your show. Where you place your rookies is crucial for attracting and keeping an increasing fanbase.

Now if I asked you where you would schedule your rookies on the Match card and you say the first match you’d be wrong that is the worse place to put new talent. You want your rookies to debut in the second last match the one before the main event. Now some other wrestlers out back may not agree with that but really it ultimately doesn’t matter where you are on the card. And your wrestlers just have to understand this is about increasing and maintaining a new fanbase.

Here is the main reason you put your first-timer rookies in the match before the main event. First ask yourself what does every new debuting trainee wrestler do? He tells his friends his family his neighbors workmates anyone who will listen that he has a match on that show. For that show your venue is going to be crowded by his friends and family who have come to see them wrestle.

Even his family and friends who are not really wrestling fans will come see him. So whats going to happen if you put him in the first match. When its over they’ll up and leave and they never come back.  Why wouldn’t they I mean they have seen there friend have his match no need to stay but if you place him before the main event you are forcing that group of people to stick around for the show where they now will have a chance to get into the matches the characters picking their favorites realize this is a fun family night out then they see there friend in a match and stick around for the main event next thing you know you just increased your fanbase as they keep coming back. And you repeat that strategy every time you debut a new rookie.
